Why are healthy, young women expected to go to the doctor yearly for invasive physical exams, yet men of the same health and age are expected to visit a doctor only once every 3-5 years for far less invasive exams?
A woman’s risk of breast cancer below the age of 40 is nearly equal to a man’s risk of testicular cancer, and a woman’s risk of uterine or cervical cancer is nearly equal to a man’s risk of prostate cancer.
(And I don’t buy the “men’s parts are more easily accessible and therefore problems are more easily detectable” line. I reckon a prostate is LESS accessible than a cervix and breasts and testicles are equally accessible.
Is it because women simply will do whatever their doctors say and men won’t?
