Serious question about sexual health?

Written By: admin on February 23, 2010 38 Comments

Can a man get a bacterial infection from giving oral sex to a woman? I never had a bacterial infection in my life, but now I’ve had two in three months. The only thing different in my life is the oral sex with my new girlfriend. Can I be getting bacteria from that situation?

  4. sobeit33 on: 23 February 2010 at 7:28 am

You can get all kinds of STD’s in your mouth from syphilis to HIV, Go to the Dr and tell them what is going on, if you are infected you can be treated, Then if you choose you still want to give oral to her, use a dental dam, you can google that, its like a condom only flat to cover the vaginal area so you can still do your thing without direct contact. Don’t forget if you are infected, She needs checked and treated too.

Most certainly! Chances are it is Chlamydia… both of you are going to have to go to the doctors, and have it treated at the same time. It’s quite common, and as long as it is not ignored, it’s honestly harmless

Dear “glide” – Serious answer to serious question = YES (100% sure).
In addition to 2 bacterial infections (gonorrhea and syphilis), there is a real possibility of viral herpes Type 2 from her or Type 1 to her.

Yes of course you can. Do you know what type of bacteria you had? You should take care and not give that bacteria to your girlfriend either

  9. Mega B on: 23 February 2010 at 9:29 am

Where is the bacterial infection? in your mouth? how did you find out you had one?

Did you see a dr? What are your symptoms?

Let me know I’d like to help… I’m a medical student and a pharmacy tech.

    Yes you can.

  12. Pammie on: 23 February 2010 at 10:20 am

Where is the infection. Is it in you mouth. If so I would suspect the oral sex. Is it a STD infection? Oral sex can transmit bacteria because you are in contact with body fluids. But if the bacteria is not in the mouth and not an STD I reckon you can probably rule out the oral sex.

Are you sure the infection is a bacterial one? If so, perhaps your girlfriend should get tested. This would rule out whether or not she is the cause of the problem (she may not even know it) and, if she isn’t, then may help lead you to figure out the issue.

There is a vaginal infection called bacterial vaginosis. Some women never have any symptoms, so your girlfriend could possibly have it and not know. You can pick up a Vagisil test kit to diagnose this issue at your local Walgreens or Walmart. The kit, which is approximately $10, can be found on the yeast infection aisle, as bacterial vaginosis is often mistaken for a yeast problem. All your girlfriend would have to do is place a tiny test stick inside her vagina for 5 seconds and read the results.

I’d say: give it a try!

  27. Laurie on: 23 February 2010 at 4:32 pm

I am aware of herpes and a yeast infection. Anything goes if you are not willing to take precautions.

  28. ~Pamela~ on: 23 February 2010 at 5:16 pm

you do know….that is from AN STD………..go to the DR. get a few shots………and don’t see the new gf. anymore………..

  29. Joshua C on: 23 February 2010 at 5:32 pm

Of course, and it is doubtfult that you have never had a bacterial infection in your life. A large number of illnesses are from bacterial infections. You get them from lots of different activities.

  30. mia4u78 on: 23 February 2010 at 5:48 pm

that could be anything. herpes…you name it. OR she might have a strong PH…That could nearly feel as if it were burning. Whatever you do, get it checked out. Don’t wait!

  36. mam.lacandalo on: 23 February 2010 at 8:55 pm

Yes a man can get that kind of infection by just doing oral sex to woman and if in your case you never had a history of bacterial infection, I reckon the cause would really mean the woman who had oral sex with you. Maybe that woman have done oral sex to man having an infection and passed it to you. Try to take steps on consulting a doctor for tests cause it might be STD that might risk your health.
