“icelandic men eat practically no vegetables”
“men in Iceland live longer than those anywhere else on the planet”
Wow, incredible how no one acknowledges the link. Disappointing guys.

The Top 10 oldest people in the world are/were all Veg*ns.
Doesn’t that tell you something?
Amanda S is incorrect. Edna Parker doesn’t set the record for oldest woman alive.
Mariam Amash is.
“Mariam Amash rises every morning at 5am, walks unaided, and attributes her longevity to a diet rich in vegetables”

I have proof ^
From Amanda’s previous posts on many other questions and even on questions i have questioned, she clearly views Veganism as morally incorrect.
if you’re implying that you only need fish to survive , that’s not right. you cant eat only one food (any kind) and expect to be healthy. This article only cites one thing they eat.
You might. It depends on your unique body chemistry.
xD is incorrect, though. Edna Parker, the world’s oldest person WHO SET THE RECORD FOR LONGEST LIFE LIVED was NOT a vegan and regularly ate sausage, meat, fried chicken, etc. http://www.seniorsworldchronicle.com/2008/11/usa-edna-parker-dies-at-115-former.html
I reckon that should tell you something. A lot of it boils down to your body and who you are.
@duzzie The Abkhazians are not vegans and a major part of their diet is yogurt, so they are still consuming animal products. Secondly, they are a honestly homogenous people who also don’t eat processed foods and/or high fructose corn syrup. There are too many other factors affecting them to say that the reason for their health is vegetarianism while still being intellectually honest, though I’ve heard this argument trotted out all the time.
@stella In what way was this answer rude? Because I corrected someone who was incorrect? I answered the question, then I corrected misinformation, and then I corrected misinformation again. The point of a Q&A format is to get different responses not for everyone to provide the same response and agree with each other…otherwise the question is not really getting answered.
No, meat and fish dont have all the vitamins you get from vegetables.
Oh and amanda s, their are groups of people who have hardly any meat in their diet and eat mostly vegetables. They are the longest living group of people (that means more then just one lucky person lives a long time, all of them live a long time) They are called the Abkhasians. Also many different countries didnt always eat as much meat as they did now, and they lived longer and healthier then they do now. (america included)
probobly not. Without ruffage (fiber) you are at a greater risk for all sorts of digestive issues (including the C word cancer). The reason they live the longest is lack of sun/UV light. People in Alaska live would live longer if it wasn’t so cold. Icleand just has the perfect balence between less cold and less UV light. Plus all the fish they eat doesn’t hurt (excellent for the heart).
fruit and veggies are excellent for you
to be healthy and live longer, you gotta eat a variety of foods
Nope silly, you have to eat variety.
And Amanda S..you have a terrible attitude. Sorry, but you answer nearly all of these questions rudely and negatively. Question yahoo to add a “grumpy” or “negative” section and you can hang out there, okay?
Edit: Sorry girl, but i dont mean just this question specifically. You’ve been hanging around the veg*n section telling people they need meat, nightmares are telling their body they need meat, etc. The thing is, you just wont get any where when trying to convert a vegetarian or vegan back, so it’s best to not waste minutes of your day arguing for a lost cause.
